Push 02:11
Don't push me. I just balanced. Too bad you have to. Too bad you're lonely. Too bad you need someone to push around. Don't look at me, man. I'm not your servant. I'm just a worm inside your rotten head. Please, please! I beg you! Fade, fade away to dust. We're dust, and death just sets it all straight and gives us purpose. It scares me shitless every waking day. Too bad you're so small, too bad you're pointless. Can't let the turkeys get me down.
Eat 04:05
What a game we play in this arena. It's called: "haul your ass, or you'll be eaten." Fill your mouth, don't be shy, have a bite now. He wasn't fast enough, so he's in the dark now. That's the way it will be in the land of the free. And the man in the moon (made of dust) laughs at us! No! Don't laugh at us! I'll keep me calm with a slew of convictions. Nothing sings like a good distraction. I wish my head was a page in a printer: trash bad thoughts with the click of a finger. With the crack of a gun and the snap of a bone we will fall to our knees, and we're gone, and we won't come back. NOW, I'm alive! And my soul is on fire. And I breathe, and I love, and I sing, and you can't stop me!
These Days 03:17
These days shakes are law, and calm is exceptional (but at least nonzero). Dark eyed bags, those trash cans full of paranoia feasting on me. These days I'm soaked in gratitude. These days, every day is a day. Bury expectation. Dig up every bone of hope that's left. From sunrise to sunset is all that matters. It's all that matters. I'm so impatient! I'm fucking waiting for nothing! NOTHING'S COMING! These days time dries slow on a clothes line stretched with hope. Bury numbers and batteries. Dig up any flesh that's left. From sunrise to sunset let's be lifted. Let's be lifted!
The Giant 03:16
I guess you're done. You're doomed. You can stop licking your wounds. You're just recycled ash. You're just going back But the strong will survive! The poets will cry, but not I. Not I. The planets move, and all is right! Draw the giant's outline in chalk next to the bloody slingshot's rock, and we'll bury him along with your statistics. And the weak will comply, leak, and resign with still eyes. Still eyes. The planets move, and so do I!
Lonely Ghost 02:54
And on this casket's back sits a little lonely ghost. He misses his old lungs and wishes he had his throat, those good old days! Daylight will wash away. It's going to fade, yeah it will fade, and the darkness will take it's place. It's going to come, yeah it will come, so I'm grateful for this consciousness oasis that paints the darkest carpet with a sudden streak of white. We burn so bright! I will swallow it whole, I'm going to run, yeah I will run until my body breaks down. I'm filling up, yeah fill me up. Fill me up! Don't look back: you'll turn to salt. So just march on, let moments melt. I'm awake. Wake up! Wake UP! I'm awake, I'm AWAKE! And I'll never piss that away. Let's be loud, let's love, let's make some sound! Let's make some sound!
Flavors 02:38
On the eve of normalcy and stalemate we grab our shopping bags and put price tags on daylight, walk through the shadows, and sing songs of hope, love our companions with soul, skin, and bone. Mobilize. Forget about the edge. You can strategize but eyes can't stretch through time. And plans break like branches, like doors open wide. Like pupils in twilight begging for some light. Flavors come and go with the wind, but the memory remains like the taste is a stain. So why complain about being awake? If it tastes bad then spit it out!
I guess it was never meant to be. I guess it was only a seed, but you were hoping for a tree. Next time you won't water apathy. You're going to sink instead of swim, no you're never going to win. Take off your plastic crown, and watch your kingdom crumble down. The moon follows you down the street. Set your sound and set your heat. So perfect that it's hard to see the empty passenger seat....
Yeah yeah yeah I knew it all along. I knew it from the very start. I felt it in my heart (if there's even one to feel). I bought you a gift: it's a picture frame for my face when you decide to place me in the past, because nothing lasts. Yeah nothing lasts, no nothing lasts. You're taking off your clothes. I hear echoes of her breathing, but she is fading into the past. At last. At long last. At long last! Let me be! Let me alone! Water me: my memories are wilting.
Oh Mary I'm not coming home too soon. Tell all our babies that daddy has gone to the moon. My feet were sold to this winding road. My feet were sold, baby, long ago. Oh Mary I've left you a pile of dough Under the floor boards near Billy-Joel's radio. Baby I love you, but there's no chance. Baby I love you, but where's romance? Little Rock, I'm on my way to San Jose, Driving at 90 an hour. The Devil knows me. Oh Mary I think of your eyes every day. If I could see them I surely would not run away. When we were young there was so much time. When I was young there was so much time.
Darling don't just go quite yet. I think you look so pretty. There's not much I wouldn't do to keep you here beside me. I know you have your dreams and I don't want to take them from you. It makes you want to scream and I'm not helping when I hold you. But I need to say that I love you. And that I always will. I need to lay and behold you. So darling won't you be still. Take this token of my praise and hide it deep within you. Save it for the rainy days and I'll be thinking of you.
